rest. work. rest.
Rhythms of Grace
matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

what #12 (Wednesday, May 9, 2012 / 1:09 PM)

I’m at work.
Supposed to be working but decided to take a tangent and read some blogs.

I’ve been struggling with dealing with my past. I tend to ignore it, avoid it, and hope that some day it’ll go away.
Well, I’ve most definitely convinced myself that if it’s not mentioned, not recognized, it makes it less real, maybe it never really happened. “perhaps not telling people makes it less real, perhaps its not even definite…”
Society teaches me to avoid it. Cover it up. Forget about it and move on.
But they don’t teach me how to face it, and over come it.

Then I came across this post;
You are not defined by your past. You are defined by who you are in Christ.

I’m still learning, your rhythms to be my rhythms.
Teach me how to step on it and not kick it away.
