rest. work. rest.
Rhythms of Grace
matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

beat #17 - jasmine (Friday, November 2, 2012 / 11:51 PM)

grace comes in rhythm,
because mistakes come in rhythm,
because failures come in rhythm,
because disappointments come in rhythm.

it seems futile,
doesn't it?

that i know better only to fall again.

and lately i've come to see looking at you
as a means of looking at me,
a mirror if you will.

and when the sadness in my heart wells up into unspeakable fullness,
i find myself looking into the depths of my own mistakes and
beginning to understand the price Jesus paid for my every single day.

as i receive grace so i will give it
and in giving i will see the face of Him
who gave all on the cross,
so that i could have the courage to look up
and live.
