rest. work. rest.
Rhythms of Grace
matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

beat #18 - jasmine (Tuesday, November 6, 2012 / 1:12 PM)

there are moments,
where panic stings in the sudden
engulfing wave of guilt that drags you down
into the depths of a past you
are reluctant to relive.

a sudden emotion,
a sudden remembrance,
a sudden regret
over actions and words that you can never take back.

what do you do in moments like these?
when it is all you can do to keep in a scream of
unbearable discomfort and the need to erase,
for the sake of your sanity and the peace of the day.

pause, i would say,
wherever you may be,
stop struggling and you will find a certain degree of buoyancy
and if no,
it is too deep, and you are slipping away,

grace will be waiting at the
place you thought bottomlessness began.
