rest. work. rest.
Rhythms of Grace
matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion?
Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life.
I'll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

the vortex of comparison.

dear God, give my heart the solitude and silence it needs to stay focused on one thing and one thing only.

it is true, one step in begins the process of sinking, a slow but inevitable descent into comparisons, insecurity and obsessive refreshing.

no i need to stay calm. i need my feet on solid ground Father.

may these words be only for your glory. and not for mine.

oh to grace how great a debtor i'm constrained to be.
let thy goodness like a fetter bind my wandering heart to thee.
prone to wander Lord i feel it, prone to leave the God i love.
here's my heart Lord take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.
